Obituary for William Scott "Billy" Campbell Sr.

William Scott “Billy” Campbell, Sr., 73, of Carson, VA, died Monday, September 5, 2016. Born October 23, 1942 in Prince George County, he was the son of the late George Colin and Lula Gertrude Creasy Campbell. He was also preceded in death by a son, Wesley Colin Campbell; sister, Nancy Colene Campbell; brothers, Walter David and Francis Taylor Campbell. Billy was the owner and operator of W.S. Campbell Towing & Repair in Prince George for 46 years. He was a member of Oakland Baptist Church, Carson Ruritan Club, Edwards Lodge No. 308 A.F. &A.M., Lee’s Mill Fishing & Hunting Club, Rowanta Hunt Club, and was a Past Chief of Carson Volunteer Fire Department. He is survived by his wife, Kay Tipton Campbell; son, William Scott Campbell, Jr. (Marcy); daughter-in-law, Tracey Campbell; grandchildren, Samantha Campbell, Stephanie Campbell, Kayleigh Campbell, Thomas Campbell, and Madison Campbell; great-granddaughter, Kassidy Campbell; siblings, Edna Campbell May, George Colin Campbell, Jr. (Vicki), Susan Campbell Petrick, and Deborah “Debbie” Campbell Thomas (Russell), as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, September 11, 2016 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Interment with Masonic Rites will follow at Southlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
