Road Work Scheduled April 14 - 20

Prince George, VA - The Virginia Department of Transportation will perform a maintenance slurry seal on several county roads starting April 14. The expected completion date is April 20.

The following roads will be under repair:

Commons Drive
Commons Court
Birchett Drive
Birchett Place
Pfost Avenue
Esposito Place
Montreal Avenue
Vancouver Avenue
Quebec Avenue
Perrin Drive
Straccioni Lane
Moncol Drive

According to VDOT, a slurry seal is a mix of asphalt emulsion and aggregate spread over the roadway surface. It is applied by a truck equipped with a squeegee or spreader box. Slurry seals address longitudinal cracking, transverse cracking, weathering, friction loss, moisture infiltration, and roughness. A slurry seal treatment can be expected to extend a roadway’s life by 4-5 years.
