First Lady of Virginia Visits Prince George County

Prince George, VA - On a warm, bright spring day, the doors of Flowerdew Hundred Plantation, Aberdeen, and Martin’s Brandon Episcopal Church opened to welcome visitors for the Garden Club of Virginia’s 90th Historic Garden Week. The event brought 500 visitors from far and wide, with some driving from Texas and Kentucky.

First Lady of Virginia, Suzanne Youngkin, started the event with a speech at Flowerdew Hundred Plantation. The First Lady thanked the Garden Club for their efforts to preserve the state’s rich heritage, promoted Virginia’s Women+girls initiative, and honored women stepping into leadership roles that benefit the commonwealth. Before wrapping up her speech, she highlighted Governor Youngkin’s Partnership for Petersburg initiative and encouraged residents to get involved in their communities.

Garden Week showcased the great amount of care our residents have for our community and its history.
