Bill Robertson Re-Elected Chairman
Of the Prince George Board of Supervisors
The Prince George Board of Supervisors at its January 24 meeting re-elected District 2 Supervisor Bill Robertson as Chairman for the 5th consecutive year.
Robertson was first elected to the BOS in November, 2003.
Has been very active in the Virginia Association of Counties (VAC0) during time on Board of Supervisors. Presently serves as President-Elect of VACo and also serves on the Finance Committee. Was Chairman of VACo’s Administration of Government Steering Committee for 2006 and 2007. Was Chairman of Compensation and Retirement Steering Committee for 2011, 2012 and 2013.
Has been appointed, each year, by the President of the National Association of Counties (NACo) to the Justice and Public Safety Steering Committee for 2006 thru Present.
Has represented the County on the Gateway Regional Economic Development Board for the past 12 years.
Has retired with 38 years of service in Law Enforcement. Has served with the Prince George County Police, Virginia State Capitol Police, City of Richmond Police. Left the Richmond Police as Commander of Detectives to become Chief of Police in Prince George County.
Over the past 30 years has served on many civic type association Boards, such as American Red Cross, Travelers Aid Society, Richmond Community Hospital Citizen Advisory Board and others.
Served as co-Chairman of the joint Virginia Association of Chiefs of Police/Virginia Sheriff’s Association Highway Transportation Safety Committee.

Served two years as regional director and one year as statewide Vice Chairman of Virginia Special Olympics Law Enforcement Torch Run.
Was appointed by Richmond City Council to the City’s Personnel Board. This Board made City Personnel Rules and made the final determination in all grievances filed by City employees.
Served on planning committees (many years) for the Richmond Newspapers Marathon, Harvest Festival Parade and March of Dimes Walk America. Also coordinated many Presidential and Vice Presidential visits to the metro area.
Served as a board member of the Richmond Police Benevolent Association for six years. This was a twenty-six million dollar retirement investment fund controlled by and for Richmond police officers.
Served two years as Vice President and three years as President of the Richmond Police Department Credit Union. Was a Board member from 1985 to 1998. This Credit Union had assets exceeding three million dollars.
Served on promotional boards for the Baltimore (Maryland) Police Department, the Philadelphia (Pennsylvania) Police Department and Norfolk, Hopewell and Colonial Heights, Virginia Police Departments.
Served three years active duty and five years reserve duty (combat experience in Vietnam with eleven decorations and two Meritorious Mast) in the United States Marine Corps.
