February 14 - Department of Utilities Updates for the Neighborhoods of Eagle Preserve and Jordan on the James

Connection of the Central Water System to the neighborhoods
of Eagle Preserve and Jordan on the James

*Prince George County Utilities has completed all of the connections to the Central Water System in the Eagle Preserve and Jordan on the James neighborhoods. Customers in these neighborhoods are asked to run water at their homes for at least five (5) minutes before enjoying the water.*


Current Status:
1:50 PM -
Flushing is complete in the Jordan on the James neighborhood. 

Prince George County Utilities has connected the Beechwood Manor, Chappell Creek, Eagle Preserve, and Jordan on the James neighborhoods to the Central Water System.

11:05 AM -
Flushing is complete in the Eagle Preserve neighborhood. Customers are asked to run water at their homes for at least five (5) minutes before enjoying the water.

Work is underway in the Jordan on the James neighborhood.

9:20 AM - Prince George County Utilities has begun activities to complete the new waterline extension of the Central Water System to the Eagle Preserve neighborhood. After connecting the Eagle Preserve neighborhood, the department will begin work on the Jordan on the James neighborhood. Work is anticipated to be completed by 4:00 PM.

Residents are advised to continue to monitor this page. Upon connection, the County will systematically flush all water lines in these neighborhoods to ensure all well water in the system has been removed and replaced with water served by the Appomattox River Water Authority. Water should not be consumed during this transition period. It is safe to shower, and wash dishes and clothes. 

Customers will be instructed to run the water at their homes for at least five (5) minutes to remove water from their service lines and taps within their homes.
